It Is Tougher To Find A Job – So Start One

As companies are laying more people off, and people are spending less, it is getting tougher to find jobs. Although it can be a demanding time, if you stop and look around you can discover a way of making your own company.

When I initially began my construction company, I contracted myself out as an installer for a water fountain company. It was a especially great contract job, as the owner paid at the end of the job, and as a new company this was very essential for me.

As I made a better income with housing, I gave this job to a very good friend of mine. For four years he was earning an excellent income, but when the economy started to get shaky, he saw his installations slowly fall off.

He began looking for more jobs and was having a hard time finding work. The construction business in his region took a big hit, and there was a lot of competition. He called me and we started to brainstorm various ideas.

He wasn’t very keen on going to work for someone else, since the freedom he had enjoyed as a self-employed installer was hard to give up. However, at the same time he required to work.

We began to consider all of his choices, and then I suggested he begin his own business. His initial response was no, as he knows that I also have an Internet Marketing company, and he was not interested in that.

He’s a very hands on person and I recognize this. My idea was not for him to turn to the Internet the way I did, but in an alternative way.

One of the products that I make use of and now promote is for building your own solar and wind power systems. My thought was for him to build the systems, then sell them.

He decided to give it a try, and began to make wind powered generators. After getting his garage set up, and building some templates, he currently has a procedure where he is making four wind turbines per day.

He advertised locally only, at farmer’s markets and a local week end flea market, and has a back log of orders. He thinks he will be caught up by August.

His sales strategy allows for either self installation, or he will do it for a fee. Presently nearly all of his clients are requesting for him to do it, which has caused him to be extremely busy (He is considering contracting the installations out, so he can focus on making the turbines.), and build a really good income.

He has plans of starting a solar panel division too. He made one for his holiday trailer, and following his first camping trip, a lot of people showed interest in buying one from him. But he feels it will be winter before he will have the time to build them.

This is just one method of how a person can make money, even in a bad economy. With some brainstorming, and sharing of thoughts, a business was formed that is generating a good income for a former installer. If you think outside of the box, and use the information around you, you can prevail over the economy.
