The object to successful advertising is to find a method of conveying your information to as many people as possible, while keeping the cost on the advertising low to begin with. This is the easiest way to generate traffic, and retain your profits. Google Adwords is a great method of getting both of these objectives done and making your site successful. It is very important to try and maintain a low click through cost when trying to target the appropriate customers.
It is no secret that pay per click can really make your business swell with traffic and customers, by placing the highest bid on a keyword, or keywords you can get great page ranking when someone types your keyword into their browser for a search. If you have heard of Google Adwords you will know that it is not really a pay per click search engine, but a very powerful Google tool that can be used as an advertising template. It is said that the largest Internet based network for marketing is indeed Google. It is a global industry and is a very good way to get exposure on the Internet. If you are interested in the Google Adwords you can find it on just about every page that Google showcases, their ad can be found in a little rectangle by the organic search results that are free.
The basic premise of the Google Adwords realm is quite simple, the member makes their own advertisement, and then has to bid on a keyword, this key word will then trigger the next step of the process. The next step is where the appearance of the ad can be showcased, to the viewers online. A members site consists of approximately 25 words or characters, this will include spaces so be mindful, it will also allow for a description segment of up to 70 words or characters, again spaces included in the total so you must watch what you are using as description. The great thing about this feature is your site will be posted within just a few minutes of you submitting it to Google. It could even become one of the sites that are sponsored, where they will sit on the right hand column of the search engine pages.
Google’s Adwords runs a little differently than the standard pay per click programs, it is not entirely based on the bid you place on the keyword. It has other factors penciled into the equation, such as the click through rate, plus the cost per click. This in turn dictates what your page ranking will be in the end of the ratio. You will need a steady flow of traffic to your site prior to this method to be effective, so it is best to get a good game plan in motion.

Right now good home business ideas are in demand again. In this gloomy looking economy and with more companies downsizing, it pays more than ever for us to have an alternative source of income. Even for employed folks money is tight so the ability to make some extra money at home is an attractive one. There are lots of home business ideas, producing both small incomes and large ones. Many folk have replaced entire salaries with home businesses and are no longer dependent on a traditional job.
Of course the work at home scene also includes telecommuters who do a part or even all of their jobs at home but as this is still employment in the traditional sense we’ll ignore it for this discussion and just look at some of the independent incomes.
Be aware of the scams though and watch out for small business opportunities that simply look too good to be true, they probably are! Claims of vast amounts of easy money should put anyone on guard and any company that asks you to pay to start working with them is likely only after your money and not trying to make you some.
That said, there are lots of very real and often very lucrative opportunities for both part time and full time earnings potential. From affiliate programs, to arts and crafts, from ebay businesses to freelance article writing, photography and pet minding, the list is a large one.
I have friends who make money from selling their paintings and others who make a great living from little niche ebay stores, another sells her own jewelry designs at weekend markets and there are countless folks involved in affiliate marketing and running websites. They all started out small, usually just part-time and made lots of use of the better online resources available
There are lots of business plans and guides available which are very helpful to those folks setting out in home businesses. WorkAtHomeFiles.com is a site that lists genuine work at home ideas and also offers some free downloads and is definitely worth a visit if you are on the lookout for true work from home ideas and opportunities.
The most popular downloads include guides to blogging for cash, not surprising given how rewarding blogging can be, whether in the form of paid posts, affiliate sales or advertising revenue or even all three as some crafty bloggers manage.

If you are thinking about starting a business from home there are a number of things you should consider before you even start.
1. What type of business you start is often based purely on what you are doing now, regardless of what the market will take. For example, if you are currently employed in a sports shop you might think that the right business for you is to branch out on your own and sell ski wear directly from your own home. It is true that you will have contacts and the product knowledge but have you thought about who you will sell to as a new business without a high street presence and whether you will be able to compete with your erstwhile employer? Play to your personal strengths.
2. Basing your business at home is a great way to avoid the cost of renting an office. But do you have enough room? A shipping containers conversion could prove to be the answer and provide you with a purpose built office that could be sited in your garden. Various sizes of site office should be available either new or second hand and at reasonable cost.
3. Talk to other small business owners who have at least 6 months to 5 years experience. Ask them about the stresses and problems that they have experienced in setting up their business, how they conducted their market research and for any tips they can give you. This could save you money and lots of wasted effort.
4. Whilst on the subject of research – talk to your potential client base. Find out what they are looking for from you, who they are and how they would like to pay for their goods/services. This will help you to know more about how you should structure your business and give you a chance to make some pre-sales. At the very worst, people who have been asked for their opinion are far more likely to buy from you than someone else as they feel they have had a personal involvement – nothing is as good as direct communication as a form of advertising!
5. Rather than starting a business totally from scratch, consider taking on a franchise or buying an existing business. Find out what is involved in each of these – for example, why are the owners of the existing business selling or what is the franchise company prepared to do for you in the way of support and advertising in your area?
6. Where are you going to store your stock? You need a dedicated area that is wind and watertight as well as secure. Shipping containers used as home storage could be the answer. Either new or as a second hand container, they are easily delivered to your home and stock can be easily organised by adding shelving or cupboards.
7. Make a thorough financial business plan. Know what start-up costs are involved (that home storage container or shipping container conversion for example!) and allow enough in the budget to support yourself whilst your business gets going.
8. Consider all your marketing – are you mainly going to base yourself online? Can you sell via e-bay? Research how your competitors use the web and talk to an expert about setting up your own website and getting it properly optimized. 80% of all traffic comes from being on the first page of Google – so if online sales/marketing is the way forward for you this is something you want to take very seriously indeed.
9. How do you deal with stress? Make no mistake, a new business venture is often extremely stressful and you need to be able to keep calm both for your customers and for your family.
10. Finally, and once again, do your research and then do it agin. There is a well-known story about two people starting up new businesses. One walks down the local high street and sees there is no tea shop so straight away starts up their own. The business fails because there is not enough demand locally. The second walks down the same high street and sees that there are two thriving greengrocers. They start up a third greengrocers and the business thrives. This is because there is the market demand for fruit and vegetables and the new greengrocer researches how they can offer a better, and more friendly service to their customers than their competitors. Find out about your competition and your potential market in whatever way you can.
